I found it funny that people looked at the style of van I have as a “Dustbuster” once upon a time, but I think it looks more like the front of a Starfleet Runabout from DS9. Mine is a nice deep metallic green. I think I made a good deal picking this baby up, and the speakers don’t suck either. At least it’s very aerodynamic for when cruising around!
And to think, at one point I wouldn’t be caught dead driving a minivan. *sigh*…how times change, I guess.
(Note: This was changed a bit from the version that is on my site, which includes a picture of the body style)
I think that my co-workers and managers have gotten used to my eccentric side of me wearing heels and platforms every day to work. I figure as long as it looks good, then to heck with it and just wear what feels natural. Today was “baby-doll pump” day, which went well with my outfit. Heck….black goes with EVERYthing! Yeah, I tend to go on about this part of my life, but it’s my site, so there. I swear some days Raven tells me “You have got to see this kick-ass piece that goes all the way up to your size” just to tempt me into bringing one more thing home. I guess that’s OK since I don’t mind being classy..hee hee hee. She’s really cool, and even if she didn’t own the most kick-ass place in Denver, I’d still like her just as much as I do now.
Work continues to be the chore that never ends, and getting there was half the fun today. My new van stalled out twice getting there, once on I-25 (oh that was fun!), so I’m glad the dealer is gonna look at that on Friday – just how I wanna spend my day off, let me tell you. Other than that it’s a pretty solid little wonder. I just have to get used to driving a vehicle with a huge derriere now. It also reminds me of a bullet train from the front, so that’s kinda cool too. I may wear my baby-dolls and the new boots on a more regular basis since they are both way comfy, but heck…if it wasn’t those, it’d be another pair out of my collection!
I’m feeling much more human now after getting back from having some fun on the coast. I think what I needed was a real sanity break from dealing with suck-ass customers at my regular job (not my weekend job – I do love that one). I’m getting back into my semi-normal routine, so that is a good thing. I tried that new Pepsi Blue today. It’s OK…it’ll probably take longer to grow on me than the Pepsi Twist did. Have you ever noticed that fountain drinks usually taste better than those in cans or bottles? I’m trying to figure out the magic ingredient there…maybe it’s the carbo/syrup ratio or something – I’m not sure.
I picked up two more pairs of footwear for my closet rack, bringing my total to around 28 now I think. Some may consider that to be a fetish, but I just like what I like, you know? I picked up a pair of baby-doll pumps (thicker heel than normal pumps and rounded toe). I also picked up a pair of open-toe platform boots that look like thick straps around the boot with a 6″ heel & 2″ platform (both clear), and VERY comfy!
I’ll probably start some sort of gallery for these on my site directly, but for now you’ll just have to go through my site to see them. After all, it’s my site, so if you don’t like it, you are always welcome to visit others. It’s one of those “no-holds-barred” things I guess. A couple of the gals I know were telling me how jealous they were (in a good way) of how many cool pairs of shoes & boots I have these days. I told them where I get them from in case they want some of their own, but they haven’t been there yet *grin*. Ah well.
Tech note: I also upgraded my OS to Windows XP Pro (yes, I did the big jump!) and so far no crashes and it works pretty well, actually. I was quite pleased.
(Note: This entry was modified for LiveJournal, as I haven’t figured out a place to store the images to link from here, as most sites don’t really care for hotlinking)
I saw lots of new stuff lately, as I have gone outside of Colorado to the sunny state of California. There is SO much to see out there, it’s phenomenal. You have to be ready for the traffic though, as it gets pretty darn hectic, let me tell ya! Also, don’t believe the hype you hear about Beverly Hills…it’s just that…HYPE! The traffic is horrendous and the drivers are some of the rudest people in the greater L.A. area! YOWCH! I am so tired of hearing about people bitching all over the place, I no longer frequent DSLReports as much because that’s ALL they freakin’ DO! I have decided I need a more positive outlook on life instead of hearing all this whining and bitching and moaning and complaining! I’ll have more information on our trip in a new section pretty soon, so don’t fret.
One attraction you have GOT to see in San Diego at Sea World is the Cirque De La Mer!
These guys I believe are an off-shoot group of Cirque Du Soleil, but this group does their act on the water! Check out this handy little link RIGHT HERE for the Cirque action!
This past weekend has seen a lot of high points to say the least. I am getting to know some of my friends just a bit better, and learning more about them than what I originally thought. Just because you see a person in one situation does not automatically mean that it’s the only part of their lives. The more you take time to actually get to KNOW someone, the more you appreciate the friendships you create. Reciprocation is a huge part of this, and without it, things are very much one-sided. You have to give in order to receive, for one cannot survive for very long without the other. Am I waxing philosophical here? Sorry about that…..
It’s just a few days until vacation, and I can leave the insane asylum that is my regular 5-day-a-week job behind and actually relax! Yes, I will miss my friends here while I’m gone, but it’s not like it’s forever or anything….I will be back to see them again. It’s like my friend Raven says…family comes first, and that is “chip truth” there (a little term my friend Anjanette taught me – kinda like the ‘undeniable truth’ or something like that). That two weeks will see a lot of family bonding-type stuff as we see things that my better half has not seen in a long time, and that the rest of us have never seen before outside of the pictures on TV.
If the rest of this year goes as well as the past few weeks have, then I’m sure 2002 will be a really wonderful year indeed.
This weather lately is NUTS. It’s been in the 80’s and 90’s for a bit, and it’s starting to get just a bit much. I’m so glad I have a vacation coming up. What’s strange is I’ve been hearing that it’s only in the 70’s in California! Talk about odd! I did some updating for my friend Raven’s site (check it out HERE), and have started training myself to be able to walk in 5″ heels since I’ve mastered the 4″ ones already. I’m a regular nail polish wearer once again (gee…haven’t done this in a LONG time), so now I spend about $4-5 a payday buying more colors. My friends at work like the choices of colors I pick, and have commended me on being able to do it myself. Heck…I figure it’s cheaper than a salon any day!
I think Raven’s gonna enroll me in a 12-step program for my heel addiction (just kidding) since I think I have over 40 pairs of heels, and most of those have been in the last few months! I have started picking out clothes that are more in my taste, and look better than wearing the same old thing over and over again. Heck….why not? It’s about time I showed some style (not that it’s ever been a problem). People at work are used to my eccentricities, so I don’t think anything would ever phase them again (unless I dyed my hair pink and wore a tutu).
Oh…get this! I won a contest at my regular job that I didn’t even know I entered! I guess there was this center-wide drawing and I was picked since I was an “excellent employee” (gee…I didn’t see THAT in my character profile anywhere). Anyhoos…it’s for 2 tickets to a Colorado Rockies game. Only thing is, I haven’t seen a sporting even since the dinosaurs ruled, and I have no one to go to the game WITH. Ah well…I’ll think of something….
