Well, I’m still working on kicking the “creeping crud”, but at least it’s down to the occasional annoying coughing jag that happens every so often. Still sucks though. At least my energy levels are back up to the point where I can play Wii Sports again, and I made a personal best on golf with a 3 under par. I know I could never do that in the real world, but at least electronically I can do decently.
I got my platform boots in the mail the other day, and after a few times of wearing them, I’ve learned that I have to be really careful with anything regarding half-zippers…..they get really fragile around the zipper ends. I found that one one night taking them off, and I must’ve done something wrong and I heard a small “rip”. I looked down – dangit. Tore a little above the zipper, so I’ve been babying it ever since. I figure as long as I don’t get too physical with them, it won’t get any worse, and I can either get the tear repaired with a reinforcement – or worst case scenario…may just have to shell for another pair and just chalk this up to experience. I like the style, so I’m not willing to give up on ’em.
I’ve been sucked into another new show that now I just can’t get enough of – Ninja Warrior. This is about the world’s toughest obstacle course. In the 17th tournament, 100 people accepted the challenge, but only ONE made it all the way through all four stages, and is now my newest hero – Makoto Nagano. Man, that guy does not KNOW the meaning of the word “quit” – he just keeps going at it! Then again, working out 300 days a year is bound to get you in shape for something – right?
One of my friends who used to work with me gave me a DVD of “D.I.C.E.” today, which looks interesting, so I’ll watch it with the kids to see if they like it. I still miss a lot of the shows I grew up on, like Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors, Blackstar, and M.A.S.K.. There are some good ones out there nowadays, like Big O, but most of the really good ones don’t seem to have stuck around. Thankfully, Transformers went back to its roots for the latest incarnations and got away from that Beast Wars/Beast Machines nonsense. I never could get that one. And yes….I enjoyed the ending to the original Yu-Gi-Oh series immensely, although from what I’ve read, the original manga version portrays him as a lot darker spirit, but you know how the “sanitize” those for the US audience. We’re so fragile and impressionable you know *wink wink*.
