Ah, computers. Those wonderful things that do so much (or so little, depending on your skill level), and are always fun to toy around with. I decided it was time to get a real dedicated art/gaming station put together, so thanks to the program we have at work where you can get one, and then just pay for it a little at a time, I’m going to do just that. Then, I’m also going to be putting my last box back together as a Linux project box. A PC doesn’t have to be state-of-the-art to run Linux. Heck, for what I’m going to be doing with it, it doesn’t need to do much at all, since most of the guts of Linux is white text on a black screen. How many colours does that need to be? Two, last I counted. I guess I’m just tired of checking my e-mail and surfing eBay. I used to build my own from scratch once upon a time, so it shouldn’t be that painful to get into it again. The only thing I ever have issues with is lining up the pins on the motherboard to the LED’s and switches on the front. I’m sure I can figure it out though.
I think my work schedule kinda screws up my creative juices a lot of the time, because I get up, eat breakfast, then work for 11-12 hours, then go home, have dinner, and then it’s just about time for bed. That doesn’t work too well, and then on my days off, I get sidetracked way too easily for my own good, so I end up not getting much accomplished there either.
I know……… “Quit yer bitchin, SQ, and just get it done!” Right?
I am working towards that end, plus doing some rearranging and decorating in the house, so this may end up taking a little time. Did I mention I’m looking for a nice waterbed in addition to everything else? Yes…….I may be nuts, but hey…..in the wintertime there is NOTHING like a nice comforter and a waterbed – nothing……..except a nice warm body to nuzzle up to….that’s always even nicer.
