I’m starting to really hate my bank. It’s one of those that’s in trouble, so I think they are changing rules to suit them from week to week, so I’m finally going to dump their butts and just stick with a local account so we have a real brick & mortar place to do our business. It’s funny that no matter how much you make, you never seem to have enough – I think it’s that whole paradigm that when you make more, you spend more. Oh how fun….until the bills pile up.
Time to make a fresh start in the new year. I did update my MySpace page, which admittedly has such limited control over how the page looks, so I may just go total creative and re-do my website again for the nth iteration. I did finally make my own little cave in our house, so I have a place to retreat to in order to create, think, and regain my sanity in some form or another. It’s hard to believe Christmas is only 9 days away – heck, it’s hard to believe 2008 is almost already over – scratch that….it’s hard to believe we’ve gone eight year past the turn of the millennium already! Time flies TOO fast sometimes, so I think I need to slow down a bit and take stock of the scenery about me before it whizzes all past.
It’s been pretty good minus the little speedbumps along the way, so I guess I can’t bitch too much……or can I? 😉
It’s about -13, which means it’s still freakin’ cold out there. The Billings Gazette had a beautiful picture of the smoke and steam rising from the various businesses – didn’t go all wispy as usual, but looks pretty concentrated – and somewhat menacing. Goes to show what the cold will do these days.
More layers….need more layers….brrrrr!
It’s -17 right now according to my computer, which translated means it’s bitterly COLD out there. I think our winter arrived with a vengeance this year. I can only hope that if it’s going to stay around that at least the temperature can go back up OVER zero sometime soon. Just because I grew up with these winters doesn’t mean I love the bitter cold THAT much. 😉
And no….I can’t move, so it’s time to layer up and pray the car starts each morning. Nice thing about small cars is that it doesn’t take much to get it going (less moving parts than a V-8).
To me, this song really sang the magic of Christmas. I loved it back then, and still love it to this day!
Merry Christmas all, and have a wonderful new year!
Ugh….pictures seem to make me ill these days – pics taken of me anyway. From the inside out, I look like I’m fine, but you know what they say about the camera adding pounds to your physique? Well, it’s true. Gads, I’m a bloated mess. I’m over 24 stone right now (I’ll let you figure it out), and I need to lose some. Back before I did desk jobs, I did okay – I was moving about and actually DID stuff – now I just sit on my duff for 12 hours a day, 4 days a week. I used to go to the gym, but personal responsibilities keep me from that too.
So….now I have a treadmill – time to get on a regimen, or God help me, actually go OUT for a walk somewhere. I’m not making excuses for myself – just find myself disgusted with how wide I’ve gotten in recent years. Pictures don’t lie…..oh boy they really don’t, and that’s the ugly truth.
So there’s my 2009 resolution – and it’s been said before….I WILL lose some poundage!
I usually don’t go to parties. I’ll go to little gatherings and coffee klatches, but parties aren’t really my forte. I did the yearly shindig this year for all the people I work with, and this was the first time I actually showed up. I think the nicest part was being able to hang with people I see at work, but not in the “formal” setting. I didn’t stay as long as I would have liked (yes, I have responsibilities elsewhere), but the time I did spend was fun!
It’s interesting to see people all decked out as you probably wouldn’t otherwise see them – kinda gives you another peek into people that way. Of course, I forgot my camera at home, which sucked, but I got some half-way decent snaps with my phone. It’s so nice to see there are those in the current generation that still like to be original – that’s a refreshing breath of fresh air there too.
Oh, and I added two more buddies to my Myspace list, so that was cool. I rather enjoy putting real people I know on there rather than just random people that are famous. I still keep Mari in my top 20 because I HAVE met her, so she counts as one of my real-life friends. 🙂
The other interesting thing? I realize I know a lot of people there…..but then there were a lot of people I DON’T know, so I guess it was a bit of an eye-opener as well. I guess it’s to be expected where I work at. Ah well……it was fun!
There are some who would say “E.T.” was the worst game ever – no, it wasn’t.
There are those who would say “Deadly Towers” was the worst game ever – uhhhhh….not quite.
So what game DID suck that badly to BE the worst? SWORDQUEST!
This was a game that was WAY too ambitious to be released in its day. The graphics were way underdeveloped and ambiguous, you HAD to have the instruction manual AND comic to play or you were screwed, and to top it all off……….
THE GAMES WERE NEVER FINISHED!
It was SUPPOSED to be a 4-game quartet featuring a contest, but the 4th game (Airworld) was never completed, no fourth contest ever held, no FINAL contest ever held, and it was just bad bad bad ALL the way around.
So congrats, Swordquest…..you win the king of SUCK.
