One thing about tight budgets is that it doesn’t really allow for much extra spending on things like…….games. Fortunately, I’m an old-school gamer, so while waiting for enough to spend on MK v DC or SFIV, I can just pop on my emulator and fire up a game of Gyruss, Joust, or Dig Dug. I guess I’m fortunate to have been raised on old-school games, so they’re still fun even after all this time.
No achievement points – no 50 bazillion side quests – you plugged away at it until you lost your last life…..game over, the end. My wife is actually better at old-school than I am. She’s the only one I know that can play Demon Attack for the Atari until the game quits – it just goes black….the end of the cartridge memory. I can make it to the sun on Gyruss for the arcade though. I do have a list of my faves from each of the systems I’ve played though.
Ah, the good old days of gaming bliss…….
