I’ve heard many arguments that “Oh you wouldn’t look good in that” or “Guys don’t wear those”, but I ask you seriously…..are THEY the ones wearing it? People will always be opinionated as to what looks good on whom, and the more daring you try to be, the more polarized the argument becomes.
The other thing I’ve heard is that anyone who dresses like I dare to MUST be gay! Let me dispell that runour right here and now. For one, I am a str8 boi, and two, I really don’t know any of my gay friends who choose to do what I do on a daily basis – for the most part, they look more manly than YOU do! Now granted there are days I sometimes wonder, but I’m still not attracted in the deep, meaningful way to guys as I always have been towards girls – so there’s that in a nutshell.
Back in Victorian times, both men and women were a pretty fancy bunch, but conservative thinkers and societal dogma has created the gender-based division we see nowadays. Even RuPaul said we’re all born naked, and what we wear on our bodies is considered drag.
It’s funny how many times I keep bringing this subject online. Maybe I should just write a book and publish it instead. Ah well….it keeps me busily happy.
