Recent years have taught me that a good night’s sleep is a wonderful thing. Well……since I work nights, I rely on a good DAY’S sleep. One would think that would be an easy thing to get used to, but for me……..not so much.
My daily routine consists of getting up, having a meal (take your pick, any meal name works), get cleaned up/dressed, then enjoy some family time and/or getting some necessary errands done, a little downtime after dinner, relaxing with whatever activity seems good at the time, then I go to work – once that’s done, I go home, and then do my few routinely chores, and then off to bed again.
Wow…….that looks pretty mundane. Not much variety there, huh? Well……..one thing that continues to elude me is a good sleep cycle. Heaven knows I’ve been to a sleep doctor for a study, got my sleep machine, take melatonin before going to bed, but I think perhaps it’s the sunlight coming through the window, hitting me in the face that seems to wake me up before I’m ready.
I think it’s high time for some thermal shades to block out the light/heat. Maybe that’ll be the ticket.
Or perhaps a vacation is in order – at least a nice long weekend.
I’ll find that sandman and swipe his sandbag from him yet!
