I think I heard Bill Engvall say “The older I get, the less I have patience for”. It may have had a different ending, bit it fits for my purpose.
I think in this day and age, technology – and even common sense are lost to many people. I’m proud to say that I can still program my cable remote, set up a wireless connection, get online to look up what I don’t know, and have enough common sense to follow the simple step-by-step setup instructions on most things. I finish my task with a small sense of pride, thinking “Well, that wasn’t too hard”, which just gets me more irritated at other people. Even if you break down instructions into simple, grade-school pictures, some people still can’t wrap their heads around it!
The other thing that continues to piss me off is a lack of common sense and common courtesy! If I see a motorist is trying patiently to get out of a parking lot and get on the road, I will stop and let them out. Why? Because every other jackhole will just keep walling them off, never letting them out! When I cross a marked intersection in a parking lot, I expect people to do the right thing – stop, wait for the pedestrians to cross, THEN go. No….they either pretend not to see you and gun it through or they stop, but give you the stink eye, then whip around behind you really fast!
Oh, if I only had a hammer………..
I’ve started to shout out after the fart-trumpets that are a pain in my backside (and everyone else’s), and tell them just what is on my mind. It’s not gonna kill you to wait a couple minutes longer to do what you gotta do…..and if it does, then you’re not planning your day right, which is NOT my problem!
People are just in too much of an all-fired-up hurry these days. Slow down, and git off my lawn!
