Close to a month has passed since I have retired sneakers from my active wardrobe, and now almost exclusively wear what was once thought to be for ‘the other side of the fence’. I have crossed two boundaries that back in the 80’s might have been unthinkable – wearing earrings and heels to work constantly. I continue to get great compliments from my friends as well. In 2 days I start work on the new site for Rave’s, so I’m stoked about that to no end! Her store totally kicks ass in my opinion.

Today I put up the first bits of the new site for Raven. Yeah…what the heck. I think she’s really cool, and her store is the best in Denver, so why not? Hey…it beats the snot out of that other overpriced shop in town, and besides, Raven has more class in her little finger than those other guys ever hope to have. I do love web design…it’s the only hobby I have that I can do at my own pace, and I set my own dress code. Tonight is laid back in comfy shirt, loose pants, and 5″ stilletos (this pic doesn’t have the ankle strap, but this is how high they are). Hey…might as well be comfortable as I think this stuff up…right?
Today was an awesome shopping day, as I was doing some picking out of furniture with the family, afterwards I thought to get some new shoes as I hadn’t done that in quite some time (at LEAST 2 weeks!). Anyways….I went to Rave’s and picked up some black 3″ heeled boots, which look great with black trousers, and then a pair of 5″ white patent pumps w/ankle straps (the Memorial Day rule NO LONGER applies!). Now to see just how far I can push the dress codes at work…hee hee hee. It’s fun seeing just how far one can push the envelope.
After three weeks of my little ‘trial run’, I think it’s safe for me to swear off of sneakers while at work. I’ve been wearing either platform boots, or 3″ block heel boots, and not a negative comment from anyone! I’ve gotten a ton of positive feedback from my co-workers so that seals that up. I’ve gotten a lot of encouragement both from my friends at http://www.hhplace.org as well as at work. It’s nice to know that I have a lot of friends in various places who like to see guys in heels.
Last night was my first appearance on stage in over two years, and are my arches tired! LOL. Yea…last night was a fun bundle of energy, and I had a blast. Most of the rest of the people wanted to go to the bar afterwards, but my friend Ray H. and I decided on some quiet late-night dinner and conversation, which turned out to be far better than any bar, so I’m happy about that. Went to bed with “wig-hair” and then went to work without all of the makeup cleaned off, but that’s OK. My friends at work are really cool like that. I still wear my platforms to work, and no one says a word….just the way I like it. I’ve gotten no bad remarks yet, so maybe I’m on the right track on that front.
