I guess it’s only fitting I write this one today – the last day of 2007.
I think since 2000, I’ve had mixed feelings about our world. Back in the 70’s (and our parents before then) had visions of colonies on the moon, massive space exploration, and grand visions of the future. Boy what a disappointment THAT was. Each year seems to be a year of setbacks in the space program, despite all the launches we do. Our space program has been going at a real snail’s pace for the last 30-odd years, and I doubt it’ll pick up anytime soon unless another race pays a visit to our space station to chat with the terrans.
Another random thought…..have we given thought to giving our natural satellite a real name? I mean…the other planets in our system have interesting names for their moons, but ours is just “The Moon”. Ummm…..update? anyone? Bueller? anyone?
I still think it’s so very odd that I moved AWAY from Montana to have a better life, but even though we lasted 5 years in Denver, it was always from check-to-check, and struggling….even more so in California, despite the HUGE amount of fun going to Disneyland, the ocean, and having my fill of Tommy’s (now I want more). Once we moved back, things started inproving, and my career path is finally stable. Go figure!
It’s been filling, and it’s been stable, but it needs more spark!
In the new year, I’m going to refocus my energies and concentrate more on my art and design, as I would love to see some of my works in a gallery somewhere – perahaps even for sale. So I was told that I should get some of my stuff together, make prints or photos of it, and show it to some art galleries for display. I may need to touch base with my kindred spirit friends and see about getting that done. The next thing is to figure out the best way of enlarging digital images to where they can be printed out and hung on a wall as well. I am an artist, so I should be able to accomplish this.
Keep your fingers crossed, and wish me luck! I can DO this!
