Anyone remember this classic from years ago?
I’ll be pleasantly surprised if anyone does, to be honest. 🙂

I’ve seen some SLICK plug-ins for browsers in the past, but this one is just way stylin’! I’m talking about CoolIris for Firefox.
If you haven’t seen this before, you really should. It makes your search into something really spectacular in my opinion. Once you have it, I think you’ll agree. Yes…I guess I’m impressed easily, and this does open my eyes as to some of the coolness that is Firefox (other than it’s way more stable). Yes, I still use IE out of habit, but perhaps someday I’ll fully jump on the bandwagon. This is one sure way of getting me closer though.
I don’t know what caused it, but I am loving having things done in shades of pink these days. Maybe it’s another manifestation of my femme side bashing its way out, but whatever the reason, it’s here to stay until I get bored and want to change again. I guess to me it just looks cool now, but I probably wouldn’t have thought so a number of years ago. I guess it makes sense I like it though. I mean, I have a computer, screen wallpaper, and shoes all that color, so I must like it to at least some extent. I think it looks awesome with black, so I haven’t totally abandoned my other fave colour just yet – then again, so many accent colours look good with black.
Maybe I’ll keep black around after all. It has done me no wrong.
I’m sooooooo gonna get flamed for this, but I have to speak my mind. Time to get my well-lined corset out!
For a country that professes it has a “separation of church and state”, I have to say that is the biggest bold-faced LIE in the history of our country – especially in this day and age. Religion is played into SO heavily when it comes to matterws of law and state, it’s a joke to think we ever HAD a separation.
All the conservatives are all up in arms saying the word “marriage” is only between a man and a woman. Well then, I suppose next they’ll say that any union that doesn’t take place in a CHURCH isn’t considered a marriage (what about those of us who were married by a judge?). I mean, why stop at just the gay population? Why not exclude ALL they don’t seem fit? It’s looking like an exclusive club there. Don’t give me any “separation” crap – we KNOW the conservatives are going to use religion like a club to get its own way.
One of my friends brought this up, and I’m surprised it hasn’t been acted on before. If the religious right are so adamant about what they view as a “marriage”, then how about this…..make the word “marriage” STRICTLY a religious status? For all LEGAL purposes (protection, adoption, legal rights, family rights, etc.) give all those rights that are afforded to what are now “married” to all people not protected, protect them under the “civil union” or even better – “lifemate” status. Something that allows ALL people to affirm and protect their love and devotion to each other.
People are going to love who they love, no matter what law says they can’t, so those of you who are so splitting hairs about this, how about you take your “marriage” wordplay and grow up! You are so adamant about denying a group of people one of the basic founding principles of our country – the pursuit of happiness, that you will stop at NOTHING to squash it under your mighty boot.
Let people love and be free. That’s what this country is supposed to be about, isn’t it?
Remember “Language is a Virus”? Remember “O Superman”? Remember “Home of the Brave – the movie”? If you do, then you know who Laurie Anderson is. If you don’t know who she is, then you should…..you really should. She’s fun to listen to and watch. Oh…and by the way….she married another legend – Lou Reed!! Congrats, Laurie!
I used to watch this, and some other great cartoons on Pinwheel early in the mornings on Nickelodeon (back when it was REALLY good). Check it out!
Charlie’s Climbing Tree (translated) (this one didn’t allow embedding)
They also had some other great cartoons, like:
Bunny in the Suitcase (could only find the intro)
Chapi Chapo (they have SO many on YouTube)
Simon in the land of Chalk Drawings
Man…this was back when cartoons were GOOD!
I had something funny said to me today. I was discussing my choice of colour for my new laptop (pink), and then told one of my friends that I might adorn it with Toadette or something anime & pink, and he told me “You are SO gay, you know that?”
I am? I knew it was in good jest, since I do have outlandish tastes, and we joke ALL the time, so I told him that hey…..perhaps since I’m a straight queen, does that make me a minority within a minority or something? Okay…maybe I don’t do full-on “queen mode”, but I think my feminine side is asserting itself in a huge way, and I’m actually more comfortable now than I have been in recent years.
For the record, I am a str8 boi, but I just tend to embellish my life and lifestyle more than 99% of the crowd around me. If that confuses people, then it’s up to them to sort it out. I’m not out to offend anyone – I just want to be free to be me.
I guess I might be more complicated than I originally thought.
I am proud of our country! We did a wonderful thing today in electing Barack Obama into office. I’m sure he’ll do wonderful things for our country and for our unity. He earned his victory many times over, and this is truly a great change for our country.
What a win – it wasn’t even close! 🙂
I wish I could be as optimistic about our friends in California though. They are working to pass “Proposition 8”, which bans all same-sex marriages in that state – and this comes just shortly after they won the right to do so! Are we so small-minded that we can’t let everyone share in their dream of love and life together with their chosen mates? That was a sad note in an otherwise great and historic day.
Shame on you, California, for excluding a segment of our community – our diversity.
I just did up two new articles on my website: The Nail Files (digest version), and “SQ’s Closet III” have just been completed and uploaded, so please do come check ’em out.
I had to laugh tonight. I was looking for cosmetics when I ran across this ad for “manly cosmetics”.
I’m like……what?
So yeah….they now have “guyliner”, “manscara”, and “mancake makeup” – really now. I mean, this is way beyond lame in my book. This is purely a marketing ploy to get guys into the whole makeup thing by giving it a “manly slant”.
Do they REALLY think guys are this gullible that they’ll shell out more for something they can readily get in any store for much less?
Well….I guess they do, because there are those who will.
Black eyeliner is black eyeliner, no matter what wrapper you put on it. The only thing that matters is that it’s good quality.
